My Pregnancy-Safe Beauty Must-Haves

If you have been following me for some time you’ll know that I am a HUGE advocate of self-care (in all its forms!!), especially during pregnancy. One of my favorite self-care rituals during pregnancy has been taking a few moments each day to connect with our baby and honor my body. I apply Evereden’s Golden Belly Serum onto my belly, hips, and breasts, close my eyes and connect to my breath, body, and our baby. Sending loving light and energy to the miracle growing inside of me, and thanking my body for sustaining, and nurturing this pregnancy.

I am so excited to share with you my pregnancy-safe beauty must-haves that have kept my skin soft, smooth, and glowing for the past eight months.

1. Beautycounter: I switched to clean beauty products early on in our fertility journey but struggled with finding particular products that could compete with my trusted (and toxic) counterparts hello foundation, bronzer, mascara!! And then I discovered Beautycounter - the creators of clean, high-performing skin care and makeup who are on a mission to educate and advocate for stricter standards of safety. I first tried Beautycounter’s Tint Skin Hydrating Foundation and was hooked from the get-go, this lightweight, creamy foundation goes on seamlessly and feels light enough to wear daily. Since then my make-up bag has evolved to include many of their most-coveted products!

2. Almond Goat Milk Soap: Made with olive oil, goat milk, pink french clay, and almond oil, this creamy soap bar from The SallyeAnder is rich in essential fatty acids that help to hydrate skin and minimize wrinkles, leaving skin soft and smooth. It’s especially helpful for dry and sensitive skin and made with all-natural ingredients, a soap bar typically lasts 1-2 months in the shower. I especially love this brand’s philosophy and what inspired them to create handmade soaps back in 1982.

3. Prose Shampoo and Conditioner: Prose made-to-order formula is uniquely customized for each individual based on demographics including, age, hair type, hair goals, and geographical location. The Prose formula is created free of parabens, sulfates, phthalates, mineral oils, GMOs, and is always cruelty-free, with an option to make your formula vegan, gluten-free, silicone-free, dye-free, or fragrance-free - perfect if you’re trying to conceive or currently pregnant.

4. Youth to the People: Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Oil and Superfood Cleanser are two products that I have been using daily throughout my pregnancy. The Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Oil is ultra-enriched with super berry antioxidants leaving skin soft, hydrated, and glowing. Intensely hydrating prickly pear and squalane oil lock in moisture with the help of omega fatty acids and vitamin C. The Superfood Cleanser is a powerful, but gentle daily face wash formulated with cold-pressed antioxidants effectively preventing buildup in pores, removing all traces of makeup, and balancing the skin’s pH without drying.

5. Ritual Essential Prenatal: I believe that beauty is skin-deep and the products that we ingest are just as, if not more important than the products we use on our skin. The Ritual Essential Prenatal has been formulated with 12 key nutrients for pregnancy, in clean and absorbable forms and does not contain anything artificial, is free of GMOs, and with traceable nutrients that are gluten-free and vegan friendly. Enter code WPA-ELISA20 to receive 20% OFF your first month’s supply.

6. Evereden: I am so thankful that I discovered Evereden at the beginning of my pregnancy. Their dermatologist-developed pure, plant-based ingredients are clean, non-toxic, and certified to the highest standards, making them safe for both mama and bub. I have been using the Golden Belly Serum and Nourishing Stretch Mark Cream since early in my second trimester, and at 34 weeks have just introduced the Lifting and Firming Lotion and Soothing Belly Mask for a luxurious moment of much-needed self-care. Not sure which product to start with? I recommend trying the Golden Belly Serum which has been clinically proven to reduce stretch marks by 62% in just 8 weeks. And yes, I already have a selection of their baby products waiting for the arrival of #babyflake.

Note: If you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or breastfeeding, or are taking medications please consult with your physician before beginning any new dietary or supplement regimen.
